Hip Hop Beats- Rap and Hip Hop Has Came A Long Way

If a person was to go back and listen to hip hop back in the 80s and 90s, they will see that rap music has came a long ways. Don't get me wrong, I'm still a big fan of Hip Hop and a lover of soul music, but the message from most artist today is very repetitive. How much can a person rap about drugs and sex?

Even though music back in the old days were based off the same things, but at least they did mix it with a positive message. Today, the whole message is YOLO, which can be destructive towards the youth, because if we have no youth then we have no future in hip hop.

Don't get me wrong, there are many hip hop artist doing their thing in a good way, but we also have a lot of foolish and retarded music being put out to the public. Rappers should really listen to their lyrics before recording because you don't want a bad message being relayed to the public. Your voice is a powerful tool, use it with respect and be creative.

Here are three Hip Hop tips:

1) Write Relevant Content- What I mean by this is, when you write your lyrics, talk about things that are relevant in the world today. If your lyrics is about something that the public can care less about then your record will get trashed.

2.) Speak Clearly- Even though there are many artist that has sold platinum records and you can barely understand them, its still best to speak your words clearly. Some words may require a lil slang to make it sound tight with the beat.

3) Ride The Beat-  This is a million dollar tip right here. If you are trying to make a hit, which I'm sure you are, then you have to practice " riding the beat". Any track that you record to will have a certain rhythm, and its the artist job to capture that rhythm and let your lyrics ride with the beat. The worst thing you can do is get swallow up by the beat, this means the beat has more energy then your lyrics.
